The Good Old Days

I have been missing my old studio. For one, it was a wonderful project that my husband and I built with our own hands (and some family help), and two it was just adorable and well equipped. Since finding out I was pregnant I stopped soldering, enameling and polishing for fear of all the dangers it could produce for the baby. Now seven months after my daughter was born, I still find myself afraid of my old ways. I really miss my old practices, but now that I am still breastfeeding I just can not risk it. So many of you may wonder how I make my new work. Well, in our new home my husband Derrick and I each have our own art studios upstairs in our finished attic. Since moving indoors the only thing I have kept is my love of using resin. I have been assembling pieces that I made and did not finish out B.C. (before child) as well as creating new assembled pieces. While I am not smithing currently, I am still doing my passion...making jewelry.

Just Pure Handmade

My cuff links were featured in this treasury today. I really enjoy the touches of yellow. I am so happy that since getting back on Etsy I have been featured in 4 treasuries and three of those were all this week. Maybe this means good things are heading my way.

The Woodland Princess and Her Furry Friends

Wonderful Woodcuts

Brand new woodcuts in my b NATURAL series featured on Etsy. I really enjoy the negative spaces that are created by these woodcuts. The beaded accents add the perfect touch to kick the fun up a notch. You will definitely be noticed in these unique earrings.

Work Now in Memphis

I am thrilled to announce that some of my B MANLY pieces are now at the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, TN. You can find my tie tacs and cuff links in the Metal Museum shop!

Back in Action

After a yearlong hiatus from etsy I am glad to be back. My daughter is now 6 months old and I am finding time to make more unique creations. My shop now has over a dozen pieces featured and plenty more are coming.

Holiday Hoopla

Looking back at Circa Gallery's Holiday Hoopla in downtown Asheboro.

This event was quite wonderful even though it was bone chilling cold. My hope is for this event to be featured indoors next year. There is a wonderful selection of artists and amazing handmade holiday gifts for sale. Circa Gallery also put together a silent auction to raise funds for the hospital. Most participating artists gave a piece for this fundraiser. The auction selection was a great representation of North Carolina artist participating in the event and others that donated for the auctions cause.

b NATURAL New Fall Sihlouette Series

I can smell the leaves turning and falling. I love fall, my favorite season is the perfect time to wear copper. The natural patina of copper, as it oxidizes slowly, makes the most wonderful autumn color. I have taken inspiration from the clean design of natures simple and intricate silhouettes.

I am getting ready to return from vacation and so I have reopened my etsy shop and began posting. Today I am most excited about my mens collections B Manly. I just love the cuff links I am creating. The patterns are fun, modern and colorful and the hinge makes getting dressed super easy. When you flip the hinge back the cuff links are secured and will stay in place. The clear resin seals then and makes the beautiful colors pop.

I'm Back

I know it has been a while. My hard drive fried and was replaced. I lost over 400 new jewelry images to post on etsy. Now that the school year is over I am in the process of reshooting pieces and adding new posts. I have 21 items on my etsy shop at this time. Please check back in the upcoming summer weeks for lots of new items.

With the help of family and friends I got the B Sides Metal booth together. I have a bunch of new ideas for my next show and can't wait.

New Items on Etsy

I am back and in action after recuperating for a day from Art on Sunset bliss. I had a wonderful show. Thanks to all who came. I am now posting again on Etsy and hope to post daily. This new addition was designed with my mom in mind. She enjoys it! I call it Peach and Pearl Blossom.

I have been having a lot of fun photographing my new items and hope to give slight changes to my Etsy shop image within the next few weeks.

Floral Victorian Violets

This piece has exquisite details of patina on stamped floral brass pieces as well as a carved glass cameo. I love the way this piece hangs on when wearing it. The cool colors are beautiful complements to the garden imagery.

Morning Song

This antiqued brass piece is light and elegant. The spring time theme makes for a beautiful addition to blouses and dresses. Hanging from the bottom of the pendant is a sand blasted glass leaf bead. This piece will be featured at Art on Sunset this weekend.

I was featured in Etsy Finds today and within 6 hours I received over 800 hits on my piece of jewelry. I was also featured in a link for Mother's Day (the Jewelry for Mothers Gift Guides). This is an amazing week and a wonderful time for my business! I am so grateful. This item was the linked item.

Morning Sunrise

Today when I awoke I was thrilled to post new pictures of my B Vintage line. Everyday this week, as I count down to Art on Sunset, I am going to post a new B Vintage piece. Art on Sunset is Scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 25th from 9 am -4 pm in downtown Asheboro, NC on Sunset Ave. I will have over 80 pieces of jewelry with me. Be sure to stop by if you can make it.

These earrings which I call Morning Sunrise are made from a vintage German glass bead and brass. The yellow color is amazing. The earrings are bright, cheerful and perfect for a summer day.
